Antwaun “Coach T®” Thompson is a youth leadership and personal development expert, author and basketball coach who has spent nearly 40 years helping young people build confidence, character and leadership. He is the Founder and Executive Director of JLT Fieldhouse, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit named in honor of his late father, Sgt. Maj. Joe Lewis Thompson, USMC, and the founder of Coach T's Corner®, an online mentoring academy for students, parents and educators.
His S.E.A. of Success® framework, built on Simplicity, Effort and Attitude, has shaped every team he has coached since 1985, and coaches and youth programs can now license it through the S.E.A. of Success® Coaching System. He is the author of The S.E.A. of Success®: The Ultimate Guide to Success for Preteens and Teens, Director of Basketball at Rockwell Christian School, and host of the podcasts Developing Tomorrow's Leaders and TeenSpeak, Empowering Today's Youth. Antwaun “Coach T®” Thompson is a youth leadership and personal development expert, author, basketball coach and podcast host who has spent nearly four decades equipping young people with the life skills that grades alone can never measure. Accountability, communication, confidence, time management and conflict resolution sit at the heart of his work, all built on his signature S.E.A. of Success® framework: Simplicity, Effort and Attitude.
Coach T has introduced that framework to every team he has coached since 1985. His teams won multiple district titles at Meadowbrook High School, he served as an assistant coach at Randolph College, and he led Salisbury Academy to seven consecutive championship games, winning five, with a record of 125 and 20 over that span. Today he is Director of Basketball at Rockwell Christian School, overseeing the boys and girls programs from middle school through varsity.
In 2015 he founded JLT Fieldhouse, Inc., a 501(c)(3) youth coaching and mentoring nonprofit named in honor of his late father, Sgt. Maj. Joe Lewis Thompson, USMC, whose example of selfless service drives everything Coach T does. Through Coach T's Corner® he offers one on one mentoring, the S.E.A. of Success® Academy, Beyond the Classroom: Life Skills for the Leaders of Tomorrow, a 12 module virtual program for middle and high school students, and the S.E.A. of Success® Coaching System, which licenses his framework to coaches and youth programs. He also founded the Village of Inspiration, a global community of change makers.
He is the author of The S.E.A. of Success®: The Ultimate Guide to Success for Preteens and Teens, a contributing columnist for the Salisbury Post, and host of Developing Tomorrow's Leaders and TeenSpeak, Empowering Today's Youth. His conviction is simple: “You don't have to have children of your own to love, guide, and inspire them. Every young person deserves a village.”
