Antwaun Thompson — known to thousands of young people simply as Coach T® — has spent nearly four decades doing one thing with extraordinary consistency: showing up for young people. Not just on the basketball court, but in classrooms, in mentoring sessions, at graduation ceremonies, and in the quiet conversations that change the direction of a life.
His area of expertise is youth personal growth and development — the life skills that grades alone can never measure but that every young person desperately needs. Leadership. Accountability. JLT Fieldhouse, Inc. carries the initials of Sgt. Major Joe Lewis Thompson, USMC — the man who chose to adopt Antwaun and his brother, who modeled what it means to give selflessly without expectation of reward, and whose lessons have been passed forward through every young person Coach T® has ever coached.
That legacy of selfless giving is not a backstory. It is the engine. It is why Coach T® caps his camps at 40 kids — quality over quantity. It is why he shows up to graduations, Marine Corps ceremonies, and college signing days for young people who needed someone in their corner. It is why he built a program, wrote a book, and launched a community — all in service of the same mission his father modeled for him.
